Every year ESQ is involved in the Waterloo Wellington Science and Engineering Fair regional competition. Science fairs are a great experience for kids as it lets them explore science and gain confidence through presenting the information.
One of the projects that really grabbed our attenion this year was Isaac's project on Aquacell Solar Concentrator. Isaac asked himeself 'can a solar cell generate more electricty if sun light was filtered through various liquids'. Isaac made a testing apparatus out of LEGO, and using a basic solar cell, a sheet of plastic, and water he set about testing his theory. For this experiment he won a gold medal, and also a free week of camp at ESQ.
Congratulatons on your amazing project Isaac. We hope to see you, and more youth of the region explore and engage with science and engineering through participating in science fairs.
